AGARTALA, Aug 20 (TIWN): Along with the whole nation, former Prime Minister Rajib Gandhi’s birth anniversary was observed in Tripura.

Tripura Congress supporters in their party offices across the state paid floral tribute to the former Prime Minister.

Rajib Gandhi who is known as the pioneer of modern Indian introducing computers, IT technologies in 80s was remembered by Prime Minister Narendra Modi too.

"Tributes to our former Prime Minister Shri Rajiv Gandhi Ji on his birth anniversary," Modi said in a post on X.

Tripura Congress President Asish Saha said, in today’s time when peace and integrity are under attack, a great person like Rajib Gandhi is much felt.

The former PM Rajib Gandhi was assassinated on 21 May 1991 by a suicide bomber in Sriperumbudur in Tamil Nadu. At least 14 others, in addition to Gandhi and the assassin, were killed.
