AGARTALA, July 30 (TIWN): In a shocking incident, Rajendra Biswas a bedridden elderly man, was abandoned by his son Tapas Biswas at his home on Tuesday.

This is the second time Biswas has been subjected to such inhumane treatment, having been previously beaten by his younger son Montu and left with a broken waist.

Local residents and panchayat members intervened, and authorities from the Bikramnagar Tehsildar office and Amtali police station rushed to the scene. Tapas Biswas took his father back home after seeing the police.

The incident has sparked outrage, with demands for exemplary punishment for Biswas' sons. The Tehsildar will submit a full report to the Sub-Divisional Ruler, who will take appropriate action. The community is watching for the administration's response.
