Agartala, February 4 (TIWN): All Tripura Pensioners’ Association (ATPA) would stage West district level 3-hour long mass demonstration with 20-point charter of demands at Orient Chowmohani adjacent to Guruji conference hall on February 6.

In a press conference, president of ATPA- Santi Ranjan Debnath said that the pensioners of all sections are being deprived of getting pension benefit due to the negligence of Left Front ruled state government.

He further said, after the retirement, the employees of semi-government, undertakings, autonomous and Jute Mill are not getting the pension equal to the retired government employees till date.

The association members further suspecting that the crisis was occurred during the thirteenth Finance Commission to the state government for allotting funds of pension due to unspent money during 12th Finance Commission, it is likely to be back again in the Fourteenth Finance Commission. If it happens then the pensioners will be deprived again, they said.

On the other hand, Tripura Government Pensioners’ Association (TGPA) now turned into a political branch organization, they added.

The ATPA leaders further alleged that blaming and criticizing the Central Government for the deprivation and expressing a framed story on the financial limitation of state government, the TGPA maintains to deprive the pensioners by utilizing the pension system for the political interest of the retired government employees.

Keeping this point in mind, the ATPA is decided to stage West district level 3-hour long mass demonstration with 20 point charter of demands at Orient Chowmohani on February 06.
