AGARTALA, July 28 (TIWN): Former Deputy Chief Minister Jishnu Debbarman has been appointed as Telangana Governor. In a social media post, Jishnu Debbarman thanked the president and prime minister of India for giving him the opportunity to serve as the governor of Telangana. Jishnu Debbarman in 2023 Assembly election lost in Charilam constituency and could not continue as a cabinet member under CM Manik Saha led government.
“I sincerely thank Her Excellency President of India and The Hon’ble Prime Minister of India for giving me an opportunity to serve the people as the Governor of Telangana. It is also a recognition for the people of my state -Tripura as this is the first time ,since Independence that a person from this state has been elevated to this post. I therefore thank both , once again on behalf of Tripura,” Jishnu Debbarman posted on social media.
