AGARTALA, February 3 (TIWN):Down play of insurgency ahead of Tripura tribal autonomous district council (ADC) election scheduled within next two months has garnered the politics of the state, considered to be the dry run for BJP in last bastion of CPM. The kidnapping of two persons working under the Border Roads Task Force (BRTF) including a Haryana based engineer on Monday from Mizoram-Bangladesh border in Mizoram's Mamit district triggered further tension in mixed populated areas of the state. Both NLFT and Bru National Liberation Front (BNFL) outfits are suspected in the incident.According to report, banned militant outfits including NLFT has been mobilised to create tension in tribal dominated areas in eastern parts of Tripura recently.
The militants are allegedly being campaigning for accumulating vote for ruling CPI-M in upcoming ADC poll.Yet, CPI-M has been accusing tribal based opposition IPFT for demanding separate state for tribal – Twipraland what is wanted by NLFT and other tribal insurgents. But the latest report from the hill emphasized that CPI-M apprehending massive debacle in ensuing ADC election trying to create tension in the tribal areas.

Report however, claimed that IPFT has been maintaining a close rapport with BJP’s main frontal organisation RSS who are working hard in tribal areas of Tripura over past eight months to join hand in ADC election against CPI-M.

As part of the move, IPFT leaders have already made two meetings with union home minister Rajnath Singh and his deputy Kiran Rijiju in New Delhi over their demand of Twipraland by delegating more autonomy to Tripura ADC and the demand got sympathy from the centre.

BJP is also trying to unite anti-left tribal parties including IPFT, INPT and NCT in a single platform either or mutual seat sharing among them in all 28 constituencies against CPI-M. To ensure the deal, recently retired IAS officer joined in BJP; Bijoy Debbarma has been assigned to carry out the task. Besides, RSS also extended its regular activities to motivate the tribals against leftists.

A dead force Congress in Tripura has lost it’s total base in tribal areas because of inner party squabble and city based comfortable political games for helping CPI-M in all respect for personal gain have also become main agenda for BJP in ADC election.

To counter BJP’s strategy in tribal areas, both CPI-M and Congress is working together to ensure victory of CPI-M with a small share to Congress for their survival by which the leaders of the party could earn money along with CPI-M from tribal development fund making poor tribals fool.

The age old practice, which plays sentiment of the common tribals, as advised by CPI-M state leaders through party’s main liaison in Delhi Sitaram Yeachuri, Sonia Gandhi inducted royal successor Pradyut Debbarman, another greenhorn in ADC election committee to pave the way for CPI-M’s victory.

Pradyut lives in Shillong with highest level of luxury and all vises are being used by CPM to spoil the prospect of Congress. Because Pradyut starts day with money and ends up with so many colourful dreams by which some middlemen of Congress and CPI-M have been squeezing his fund.

The Congress leaders are alleging, Pradyut has been used as tribal icon (!) who spent money once in a while in tribal villages for no reason after getting advices from Chief Minister Manik Sarkar just to help CPI-M. He is maintaining a regular contact with Sarkar.

In last election, despite several requests from the party to address the tribal voters in Manik’s constituency Dhanpur Pradyut did not turn up, as it could lead a loss for Manik Sarkar.
