AGARTALA, June 23 (TIWN): Nine Bangladesh civilians including six women were arrested by Agartala Railway Police on Saturday night from Agartala Railway Station.
According to police, they entered Tripura via illegal means. In other words, they crossed the border illegally without any proper documentation and used brokers to pass the international route.
The arrested persons are : Nipula Begum, Jannati Aktar, Miraj Khan, Akash Haoladar, Litan Haoladar, Salma Begum, Ripan Pramanik, Ibrahim Akunda, Surabhi Ali.
The three detained persons reached Tripura to go to Bengaluru, Delhi and Gujarat, said Agartala GRP PS OC-Tapas Das.
All of them would be produced before the court seeking police remand as police would interrogate them to find out who are behind them to bring them to India and help them to cross the border illegally.
This is not an isolated incident as in various parts of the state detention of Bangladeshi citizens have been reported who entered the state illegally.
OC-Tapas Das said, that right now police are trying to find out the brokers who worked behind their illegal arrival.
