A young man named Chiranjit Dey was arrested under the NDPS Act and escaped from the court premises when he was taken to court by police seeking his police remand.

According to the details of the incident, the 24-year-old youth named Chiranjeet Dey was arrested by the Teliamura police station under the NDPS section and sent to the court.

However, it is reported that Chiranjit escaped from the court premises on Tuesday with excuse of going to the bathroom.

Police blanketed various areas in the town to catch him. Meanwhile, on Tuesday evening, the police of Teliamura police station managed to arrest the jail fugitive.

Police said, two other youths along with his wife have been arrested by the police on the charge of helping Chiranjeet to escape.
