Amarpur, February 3 (TIWN): Ahead of ADC election, to hit the best in polls, while almost all the political parties including CPI-M are busy with campaigning hard by delivering fake assurances towards the people residing in the remote rural ADC areas, a section of poor people in Amarpur sub-division have been suffering from drinking water scarcity for long time. Even, the incumbent Left Front ruled ADC does not have sufficient time to solve the prolonged water crisis problem.

Over 500 families of Dalak, Lalgiri, Malbasa, Paschim Duluma and Sarbang ADC villages in Amarpur sub-division have been facing drinking water crisis badly from the beginning of the dry-season. But the concerned authority remained silent over the issue.

The locals alleged that most of the mark-II water sources are remained non-functional so far. The concerned authority does not take necessary initiative to restore them. In such situation, the residents of those ADC villages are bound to collect unhygienic drinking water from stream sources resulting water–borne diseases like diarrhea, cholera, added the locals.

The residents further alleged that, the political leaders are use to make false commitment going door-to-door before any election and collect votes from the deprived people. But immediately after the election, they avoids to fulfill the commitments and remain busy with strengthening the personnel bank accounts by misappropriating a huge public fund, they added.

Life is another name of water. And many people of rural remote ADC areas spend their entire day searching for it till today. Most of the hilly areas of the state are yet to be covered with drinking water facility. As a result, the CPI-M ruled ADC is likely to be affected in the ensuing ADC election by the rural people as they are being suffered rapidly from drinking water crisis, said a local source.
