Agartala, February 2 (TIWN): Along with the nationwide Modi wave and victory after victory in the state assembly polls, the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) is taking on every other big or not so big political battle, everywhere. And the same is being implemented here in Tripura too. The Autonomous District Council (ADC) election is going to be held in the month of next May, 2015. Amidst all political equations and ups and downs, the predominant national party of India BJP is leaving no stone unturned to arouse the spirit of Lotus in this small state.

As it should have been, the opposition is doing all for BJP so to make icing on the cake.  As the near extinct Pradesh Congress Committee (PCC) is still in deep slumber and factually is doing nothing to revive the Congress and thus letting another opportunity go off the hand. “See ADC election is far ahead in the month of May we have not hold any meeting actually”, was the remark of newly appointed PCC President Birjit Sinha, when this correspondent talked to the leader, couple of days ago.

To add insult to the injuries, the PCC President did not have the cell phone number of Scheduled Tribe (ST) cell head.

The term of the current ADC is going to be over on next May 18. And the administrative level preparatory works are being initiated. The draft electoral roll would be published on next February 21, by the state election commission.
The upcoming ADC election in state seems to be understated by a section of political fraternities. On the contrary, this might have been an erroneous state of mind, if a bird’s eye is views is kept on the 2018 assembly election amidst the ever changing political polarization. And the same is substantiated by the lessening relevance of the second largest political party of the state and the uprising of the other backed by the ruling party of the nation. Thus the ADC election may be proved to be decisive and the Congress could have turned its dismal destiny around, by registering a marginal performance, if not a moderate one, at least. Though the left parties have already taken on the field and the same is being observed when one hears the speeches of the Chief minister in the party conferences, when the lion’s share of minister’s speech consists of ADC election.
Meanwhile, yesterday 2 PM onwards state BJP has been discussing various organisations issues and planning strategies to come out as a major player in the political arena of the state Tripura. Observer in charge of Tripura Sunil Deodhar is also present in the meeting where designated members and leaders of all the arms of the party are deciding on the works of the party for the ADC poll.
“We have divided all the 28 seats of the ADC in seven zones and for the same in charge leaders have also been designated”, informed state BJP President Sudhindra Dasgupta, while talking to this correspondent. The leader just managed to brief TIWN on some of the issues as the meeting is still going on and it is likely to last upto 5 PM, today. Bijoy Debbarma (a retired IAS officer) is going to take the charge as the Convener.
Meanwhile, to constitute in a fresh and revived way the BJP has dissolved its ST Morcha.
