AGARTALA, June 8 (TIWN): As the price of potato and onion went up, the food control team of Sadar SDM raided various markets in Agartala city.
Many shopkeepers are giving excuses for flood, and national price hikes of those items whereas the administration points out the shopkeepers should have enough stock of potatoes, and onions and the recent weather issue should not have any link with the sudden price hikes.
Deputy Director Food Department Swapan Debbarma, Food Control Aniruddha Dhar Chowdhury Chief Inspector Sharmishta Das Debjyoti Chakraborty Inspector Food Kishan Saha were present in today's operation.
The officials warned the businessmen to follow the protocols and not to violate market guidelines while charging consumers for commodities.
