AGARTALA, May 20 (TIWN): When Govt of India is holding global summits, meetings with global-tech giant companies' heads, in Tripura’s various villages, people are still struggling to access network signals. Internet connectivity is No-4 demand of the Longtarai Valley’s people as they are still deprived of basic rights of life. On Monday, a protest was staged by villagers in Longtarai Valley seeking better roadways, water-supply, electricity, and network connectivity. Talking to media, one of the agitators said, “We are all time sufferers. Are Jhumias and survive by hard work but we are also humans. The government is least bothered about our issues. The negligence attitude of the government has forced us to block the road today.”
The locals took to the road, blocking the transport movement in Chamanu alleging, even after repeated requests the government is not at all concerned about the needs of the people in the locality.
