Agartala, May 18 (TIWN): Agartala Railway police have arrested four Bangladeshi nationals and an Indian broker for illegal intrusion into India via the Tripura border. The individuals, identified as Jahangir Alam, Iman Hossain, Omran Hossain, and Riyad Hossain, were attempting to travel to Chennai in search of jobs. The police also apprehended the Indian broker, Rafukil Islam, who facilitated their illegal entry.
Police were successful in arresting a broker in this case, who played to major role behind the successful illegal border trafficking.
GRP PS OC Tapas Das said, the arrested persons will be produced before the court seeking a 3 day police remand.
OC Tapas Das said, “Agartala to Shikandarbad train was delayed for hours. We were in regular checking when we noticed that some people were trying to enter the Railway station in a hurry. Their movements were suspicious. When interrogated, they were revealed as Bangladeshi and tried to go to Chennai. One Indian was also detained with them.”
