AGARTALA, May 18 (TIWN): A delegation from the CPI-M party led by party leader Ratan Das has placed a deputation to the DM West Vishal Kumar outlining various demands pertaining to pressing public issues.

The demands include such as :

1. Provide more mandays under MGNREGA and TUEP. Increase workers’ wages to offset the rising cost of living.
2. Filling up the vacant posts under government departments.
3. Making pure drinking water accessible to all.
4. Providing free food to the poverty gripped population.
5. Due to weather calamities many farmers faced tremendous losses. CPI-M demanded sufficient compensation for the affected farmers
6. Improve irrigation facilities in various areas.
7. Road and bridge repairing, expanding to smoothen the transport system.
