AGARTALA, May 17 (TIWN): Being concerned after the unexpected academic results, Chief Minister Dr Manik Saha is now scheduling a meeting with Education Department officials to take notes about the outcomes and to find solutions, so that the next year’s academic results can improve. The much-hyped Vidya Jyoti scheme was started by the then Education Minister Ratan Lal Nath and just like his Power Dept now, Nath failed to meet up with the expectations amid the new schemes forced the students to pay hefty fees in government schools.
Moreover, the Vidya Jyoti scheme was launched in most of such schools which have records of excellent academic results but this time, the results were very poor and the passing percentage also degraded.
On being asked by the media, CM Dr Manik Saha said, “I am looking into the matter and will call for a meeting shortly. I hope the matter will be sorted out.”
On the other hand, opposition student wings have been protesting statewide over the Vidya Jyoti scheme’s outcomes, demanding the scheme should be stopped immediately that is taking huge fees from students without outcomes.
