AGARTALA, May 17 (TIWN): In Bharat Ratna Club Secretary Durga Prasanna Deb alias Vicky murder case, a case was allegedly lodged against Samrat Kar Bhowmik, an advocate who is presenting on behalf of the accused persons in this case. The advocate appealed for an interim bail that was granted. Earlier, Adv Samrat Kar had slammed police over its role in this case and accused police of targeting him with unwise motives.
After the bail was granted Advocate Shankar Lodh said, “The advocate appealed for the bail under 430 and it was granted. Today, we also submitted a case diary that states Samrat Kar is not yet an accused in this case and there is no apprehension for arrest.”
Another accused Susmita Sarkar who was produced before the Court is sent to JC till 27th May.
The incident occurred April 31st evening at around 8 O’Clock after an unknown person covering his face shot Vicky.
Vicky’s driver said, a person covering face with black clothes came near to the car and knocked the car glass. As soon as Vicky opened the car's glass, the unknown man shot him from a close distance.
Police have arrested so far five persons connected to the case. However, the motive of the crime could not be unearthed yet.
