It is said that whatever is done on this day becomes indestructible. That is why businessmen carry Halkhatas and perform puja at Lakshminarayan's house.

“Halkhata” ritual began since Mughal era with the economic growth and trade expansion, increase of independent traders. Since then, this tradition has been maintained generations after generations.
