AGARTALA, April 23 (TIWN): The excessive summer temperature has been tormenting normal lives in Tripura at the end of April. In a notice issued by the Additional Secretary, said, “I am directed to share with the press release of the Government in revenue department for wide publication in the different media houses on management of hot and humid weather in the state.” The press release dedicated to all departments said, “State been reeling over hot and humid weather since last week. As per IMD report, similar condition may continue for more days.”
“The Government of Tripura already declared the heat wave, Sun Stroke, Sun Burn as the State Specific Disasters in Tripura,” the press release said.
Some tips were shared by the press release after being advised by IMD as,
- Avoid going out in the Sun, especially between 1000 IST to 1500 IST.
- Drink more water than usual.
- Wear lightweight, light-coloured, and porous cotton clothes. Use protective goggles, and an umbrella/hat while going out in the sun.
- Avoid tea, coffee, alcohol, and carbonated soft drinks, which dehydrate the body.
- Keep animals in the shade and give them plenty of water to drink.
- Farmers are advised to continue irrigation activities in summer maize, pulses, and other crops, and vegetables.
- Farmers are also advised to provide proper shelter and ventilation to animals, especially during afternoon hours.
