AGARTALA, April 18 (TIWN): CEO Punit Agarwal on Thursday inspected polling arrangements at Umakanta school ground while EVM machines were dispensed from there to various polling stations. Tomorrow 7 am, vote receiving will start in all booths across Tripura which come under the West Tripura constituency. Talking to the media, CEO Punit Agarwal said, “I reviewed the overall situation ahead of the West Tripura poll. In West Tripura total of eight segments are there and according to polling machines were distributed.”
“At 5.30 am mock-poll will start. I just have checked whether images are coming from all the assembly segments or not,” said Agarwal.
Talking about the preparedness to handle critical situations if erupt, Agarwal said, that when at a large scale such work is handled, it is expected some minor problem might erupt but the election department is fully ready to tackle any hurdles if erupt.
With proper security, the EVMs, and VVPATs were taken to various polling centers on Thursday.
The West Tripura Lok Sabha election will be held on April 19 and the East Tripura on April 26.
On April 19, Friday, Ramnagar by-poll also will be conducted.
