AGARTALA, April 16 (TIWN): Congress National General Secretary and freedom fighter Jawaharlal Nehru’s great-granddaughter Priyanka Gandhi Vadra has reached Agartala to attend election rally in support of I.N.D.I.A candidates for the upcoming Lok Sabha election and the by-poll at Ramnagar constituency. Hundreds of people, including Congress supporters gathered at Agartala MBB Airport to have a glimpse of her. Her visit for I.N.D.I.A. campaigning was scheduled one day after Union Home Minister Amit Shah’s arrival and one day before Prime Minister Modi’s visit for the BJP campaigning.
I.N.D.I.A. has nominated Congress State President Asish Saha as West Tripura constituency candidate and CPI-M leader Rajendra Reang as East Tripura candidate. The united forum also has nominated CPI-M leader Ratan Das as the Ramnagar by-poll candidate.
Tripura polls are to be held on April 19 and April 16. On April 19, the West Tripura Lok Sabha election will be held whereas, on April 26, the East Tripura Lok Sabha poll will be conducted. On 19th April, by-poll also will be conducted for the Ramnagar constituency.
