AGARTALA, April 16 (TIWN): Keeping the upcoming Lok Sabha poll and Ramnagar by-polls ahead, postal ballot voting has started in Tripura for the government employees who will be in the poll duties. CEO Punit Agarwal told media that all arrangements have been made to conduct the election without hurdles. Tripura polls are to be held on April 19 and April 16. On April 19, the West Tripura Lok Sabha election will be held whereas, on April 26, the East Tripura Lok Sabha poll will be conducted. On 19th April, by-poll also will be conducted for the Ramnagar constituency.
25% of EVMs have been kept for emergencies like EVM malfunctioning-like situations, said Returning Officer Vishal Kumar.
A total of thousand EVMs have been reached which have been commissioned today and out of them 794 will be used and the rest will be kept extra.
These EVMs include by-poll and Lok Sabha polls purposes.
Vishal Kumar said a total 2 candidates are for Ramnagar by-poll and a total of 9 candidates are appearing in the Lok Sabha poll’s two constituencies.
