AGARTALA, April 2 (TIWN): I.N.D.I.A. alliance contestant Rajendra Reang, who is a communist leader submitted the nomination for the East Tripura constituency on Tuesday. A massive rally led by Tiprasa voters marched in support of the candidate in Ambassa before the nomination was submitted there. Addressing the media, Rajendra Reang said “I will work to save democracy, to save the constitution. Youth want jobs and I will voice for them.” Tripura Lok Sabha election will be held in two phases – April 19 for West Tripura and April 26 for East Tripura.
“On 28th March when BJP proceeded the rally for their nomination submission in Ambassa, the rally was massive but it lacked spontaneousness,” said Opposition leader, CPI-M State Secretary Jitendra Chowdhury who was accompanying Rajendra Reang.
“Today, people have joined the rally voluntarily. This rally is full of life. People are seeking relief from the BJP Govt. The looters BJP is now allied with another fraud leadership who fooled the Tiprasa and sold off the Tiprasa,” added Jitendra Chowdhury targeting BJP and its ally Tipra Motha.
BJP has elected Jharkhand resident Kriti Singh as its East Tripura candidate, who is also a sibling of Tipra Motha chief Pradyot Manikya.
