AGARTALA, March 1 (TIWN): Agartala Airport Police in a joint operation with BSF caught Dulal Sarkar from Bhagalpur border when he was trying to transfer phenyl bottles. Dulal Sarkar was caught red-handed by police with 390 cough-syrup bottles. Airport PS OC-Abhijit Mandal told media that based on secret information police caught him right from the border with these contraband items. The accused was in attempt to transfer these items via border. Police lodged an NDPS case against him and sought 5 days police remand.

The case number is 30/2024, under Airport PS. The police officer said, the investigation is underway and strict actions would be taken against him as police are trying to end the smuggling crimes from the state.

Bhagalpur BOP had played a major role in the seizure.
