AGARTALA, March 23 (TIWN): 11th foundation day of Tripura High Court was celebrated in the presence of Governor Indrasena Nallu and Chief Minister Dr Manik Saha.

DGP, High Court Chief Justice, Justices, Advocate General, Senior Advocates also chaired the program.

The Tripura High Court was established on 23 March 2013, after making suitable amendments in the Constitution of India and North-Eastern Areas Act, 1971.

Justice Deepak Gupta became the first chief justice of Tripura High Court and continued till 16 May 2016.

Earlier, Tripura High Court was under the Guwahati High Court. A permanent bench of the Guwahati High Court was established in Agartala in the year 1992 having territorial jurisdiction of the state of Tripura.
