DHARMANAGAR, March 13 (TIWN): A minor girl is now traumatized, her physical and mental health is deteriorating at Dharmanagar hospital after a barbaric rape incident happened to her. SP North Bhanupada Chakraborty has taken the case very seriously, calling it one of the most unfortunate incidents in recent times. The incident happened at Ganganagar KBI east area under Bagbasa police station. The rape accused is a neighbor of the victim named Tatan Bagchi (27), S/O Chandan Bagchi. At present Tatan Bagti is absconding.
The victim was attending a function in the neighbouring area. Tatan told her that he was her brother in relation and would take to her home. The accused told her that her family members told him to take her to her home. She trusted him and went out with him to return her home.
Taking the opportunity, the accused allegedly raped the minor on the street. The victim’s mother filed a complaint in Bagbasa police station.
The police of Bagbasa police station have started an investigation into the incident under section 376(AB)/325 and POCSO 6 and handed over the case to Dharmanagar Women PS.
The accused has not been arrested yet. But he will be arrested soon, said SP North.
