AGARTALA, March 2 (TIWN): In a shocking revelation, it was known that 5 students faced heavy ragging in their hostel at Mohanbari Residential English Medium SB School hostel under Hejamara block, Mohanpur division.
The incident took place on 26th February after five students were allegedly tortured by hostel seniors under the watch of the warden.
The students were injured heavily and needed to admit to GB hospital. The injured students are : Abhijit Debbarma, Rohit Debbarma, Riaz Debbarma, James Debbarma, and Saimon Debbarma. First three students are class-5 students whereas James is class-3 and Saimon is a class-4 student.
CPI-M students’ wing members led by Secretary Sujit Tripura visited the area and met the family members. The team also placed a deputation to the inspector of schools.
They said, no action was taken against the culprits, rather the students were threatened not to open their mouths.
TSU has demanded action should be taken against the people who were involved in this activity.
