AGARTALA / BISHALGARH, Jan 25 (TIWN): In a landmark decision by Bishalgarh District and Session Judge court, a TSR jawan was sentenced to 20 years imprisonment for raping a minor girl.

Judge Debasish Kar delivered the judgement based on the case diary, evidence placed by police of the rape complaint lodged on September 19, 2020 at the Bishalgarh women police station.

The police arrested the accused Babul Das and lodged a case with 376 AB Of IPC SECTION 4 Of Pocso Act,506 IPC. SI Jhuma Das was the investigating officer in the case.

On September 17^, 2020 Babul Das took the advantage of an empty home and raped a 10 year old minor.

After his arrest, he was in jail custody for a long time. Total of 13 witnesses appeared in the court against Babul Das’s heinous crime.

After a long hearing, on Thursday justice Debasish Kar convicted Babul Das and sent him to 20 years jail along with fines.
