AGARTALA, Nov 24 (TIWN): To make Agartala city traffic jam-free, Agartala Municipal Corporation has decided to make rules and regulations strict. A meeting was held at AMC conference hall, attended by AMC Commissioner Sailesh Yadav, SP Traffic West Manik Das, AMC Mayor Dipak Majumder. Talking to the media, AMC mayor after the meeting said that various decisions were taken to free Agartala city from traffic jam. “Often it has been seen that businessmen are keeping their bikes, and vehicles in front of their shop. It is illegal. It may be your shop but you have to vacate the public space. So keep your vehicle in the parking spot”, said the Mayor.

Since 2018, Tripura Govt has launched paid parking spots across Agartala city. From now on, any vehicle, bike if is found in a public spot or violates the rules of traffic, strict action will be taken.

Traffic Dept, AMC will have authority to remove the vehicle from the spot.

AMC Mayor also has warned the households ‘not to keep’ their any material on road e.g. house construction materials as cement, brick etc. AMC will remove all such materials if found on the road.

“No shop, including Food vendors can extend their area for customers sitting on the road. Any extension of business on Govt property that is road, occupying footpath will be considered illegal”, added Mayor.
