AGARTALA, Aug 23 (TIWN): Tripura Students Union (TSU) has protested against pending stipends of students under various departments.
The CPI-M student wing TSU’s General Secretary Sujit Tripura during the demonstration said, “We are waiting for response from the Dept for a long time. Everytime, they are giving us time but no outcome”.
“When B.Ed to various dept’s students are deprive of stipends, NIT students are given threats asking whether they have received extra stipend or not . If they got it, it should be returned or they will be terminated from NIT………..what kind of nuisance is this? Is this a Tribal Welfare Dept which should help the tribal population ? Or it’s a department to deprive the tribal population under the banner of Tribal Welfare Dept?”, said Sujit Tripura.
TSU has set a deadline of August month to clear the pending stipends or they will go into further massive protest.
