AGARTALA, Aug 14 (TIWN): Tripura Congress State President Asish Saha on Monday expressed resentment and shocks over Left Front’s decision about candidates’ names declaration independently although it was decided that all major oppositions should fight against BJP unitedly in the upcoming bypoll on September 5. “What I would say is that Left Front has taken the decision hurriedly. We did not expect that. We will still want to fight unitedly in this upcoming bypoll and the INDIA’s unity should not be affected due to such decisions, we also will make sure. I have talked to Tipra Motha leaders also but whether we will still fight unitedly or not, only the Central leadership will decide”, said Congress State President Asish Saha.
The statement came from Asish Saha after Left Front declared candidates’ names for both constituencies Boxanagar and Dhanpur just after agreeing with Congress and Tipra Motha parties that the oppositions would fight unitedly against the BJP.
CPI-M State Secretary Jitendra Chowdhury however told media that what he said at press meet while declaring candidates’ name on Sunday, same was told the other opposition leaders at the meeting at Congress Bhawan.
Jitendra Chowdhury further said, he is confident that all opposition will come forward to fight unitedly against BJP and Left Front candidates will be best for the seats because both Boxanagar and Dhanpur are known as CPI-M belts.
