MANDAI, June 30 (TIWN): Tension triggered in Mandai after two workers were beaten up by some miscreants after the contractor did not pay Rs. 1 lakh to the. Reportedly, total 15 lakh was allocated for the renovation of Mandai Primary Health Centre. Parimal Sarkar took responsibility for that work. It is alleged that one of the local mafia, Rocky Debbarma, demanded 1 lakh rupees from him.

The contractor was delaying the payment saying that he will give the money soon. But today the mafia allegedly went to the work place and beat the workers and left the area.

The injured persons were hospitalized. 

At least two workers were injured in this incident. A complaint will be lodged against the incident, said the contractor.
