AGARTALA, June 29 (TIWN): “Lesson learn! What we have lost, can not be repaired but measures can be taken to find out the reasons and make sure no such things would repeat again”, said Tripura Chief Minister Manik Saha. As per the primary report, due to height of the Rath it had crashed with the electric wire and the power was not cut during the program and the electric wire with high voltage collapsed on the devotees who were standing in front of the Rath. They were spot dead. Tripura Govt has sought a report about the incident whereas the incident happened due to collaborated negligence of various departments. Many have blamed religious organization for making the Rath so big in size whereas some other question, why was iron used though engineers believe that there is no difference between iron and wet-woods when it’s about electrocution. The electric lines with high volt were enough to kill the people on spot.
Nationally this incident has not only been broadcasted by Prime Minister Narendra Modi has announced ex-gratia for the victims. Tripura Govt is also helping the people who were victimized by the incident.
In a horrifying incident, 7 persons died and 6 are serious with burn injuries in Kumarghat after during Ratha Yatra festival electric wire had fallen on the iron made Rath structure (chariot) on Wednesday.
Many human bodies were seen burnt alive, whereas many were screaming while trapped inside the Rath. People were screaming seeing the devastating scenario and bodies were set on fire and few trapped inside the Rath were screaming for help.
Talking to the eye-witnesses, they said the Rath is iron made and that’s why the electricity accident happened.
Tripura Govt has ordered an inquiry over the incident. It has been question, why the power-cut was not ordered during the festival ?
