AGARTALA, June 28 (TIWN): 1 week passed since the job aspiring Engineers demanded Permanent Residency's inclusion in TPSC job application requrements but no reply has been given by the State Govt yet. Toppers, rankers, joint entrance crackers remain jobless and struggle with careers, especially Engineers who chose to stay in Tripura. Former Chief Minister Biplab Deb who lectured unemployed youths to open Paan-Shop or Rear Cows, also claimed tall about brining IT-revolution, making South Tripura a business center making it a logistic hub and so many promises related to business, engineering but all resulted in vein. The volume of unemployment is very high among the engineers. State Govt hardly takes initiative to recruit Engineers amid Engineers have no other options in Tripura if they want to live in Tripura, instead of joining private companies outside Tripura.
But amid all these, a new problem has erupted when Tripura Govt through TPSC invited applicants for jobs for Engineers making the posts available for any candidate of the country like JRBT exam, where in various TPSC exams, PRTC is mandatory which means only Tripura residents may apply.
On last Wednesday, Tripura Engineers have written a letter to CM Manik Saha requesting that PRTC should be made mandatory for all applicants citing the massive unemployment and no industrialization in Tripura, but so far no reply from the Govt has come to the job aspirants.
Working in private companies can lead to exploitation as these companies won’t pay high to engineers or any employee. In this situation, Govt job that can give security to the Engineers have made open for all Indian candidates. So, the youths have demanded recruitment via TPSC with PRTC requisition.
They have also demanded “waiting list” system to avoid vacant posts. It may save Govt Dept and also the Job aspirants who are preparing for the examinations by investing many years.
