AGARTALA, June 24 (TIWN): Seeking immediate implementation of Roman Script for Kokborok language, Tipra Motha party held Raj Bhawan Abhijan from Astabal stadium. The rally reached Circuit House, where police stopped the agitators and then leaders of the party visited Raj Bhawan. Talking to media, a woman leader said, “The demand for Roman Script for Kokborok is long pending demand. Time to time various parties Govts came in power but nobody fulfilled the demand. If in coming days, this demand is not given priority, within a short period of time, Tipra Motha will go in bigger protest as this is not a party demand and it’s demand of the Tiprasa community, said the Tipra Motha woman leader.
“This is our long pending demand. Our demand has been ignored for a long time but now we demand that the Governor should take our demand seriously”, said an agitating women leader at Circuit house where they were stopped from proceeding to Governor’s house.
“Kokborok language has reached up to Mater’s level but the language has not been fixed over the script. We want immediate implementation of the demand”, she added.
The agitators also raised slogan “We want justice”.
