Tripura's Manik Sarkar or Left parties have no qualms in accepting American funds, World Bank Loans in multiple projects but Left parties lack common sense in welcoming a foreign leader into country. Accusing the Narendra Modi government of compromising India's sovereignty by inviting Barack Obama for the Republic Day function, several Left parties on Saturday staged rallies in Kolkata, Tripura opposing the US president's visit. When 21st century world revolves around business and investments, even hardcore leftist nations like Cuba to China has become USA’s business partners but visionless CPIM Politburo and its Octagorian leaders chosen to remain in their century old dark pit of ignorance.

In Kolkata, rally was attended by Left Front chairperson and Communist Party of India-Marxist politburo member Biman Basu, Leader of Opposition in the West Bengal assembly Surjya Kanta Mishra and CPI state secretary Manju Kumar Majumdar.
