AGARTALA, June 23 (TIWN): When the Govt of Tripura propagate that Tripura has power surplus and that’s why export to Bangladesh and Nepal, Power Minister claimed that now a days, Tripura is buying power from other states.

Both claims are contradictory to each other.

Some netizens raised question, when OTPC, Monarchak like power plants are in Tripura and state is exporting power to Bangladesh, Nepal, why would Tripura purchase from other states ?

According to Govt of the State OTPC generates 726Mw, NEEPCO 235 Mw, and TSECL 115 Mw that makes Tripura power surplus and capable to export power.

So question raises, when Tripura is capable to generate power, why the Govt is blaming consumers for power cut ?
