AGARTALA, June 23 (TIWN): During his tenure as Education Minister from 2018-2023 February, Ratan Lal Nath declared new rules for job appointments like ‘Passing in TET is not necessarily getting jobs’. He also made various job recruitment process very complex and discontinued ongoing recruitment soon after joining as Minister in 2018. Now, after he has become the Power Minister in 2023 under Manik Saha Govt, started new rules like users of multiple AC machines or similar machines, should take extra connections / lines or at least s/he has to inform the TSECL so that more transformers can be installed. Such new rules have irked resentment among the consumers. Ratan Lal Nath asked, the consumers to inform the TSECL about the extra uses, so that precautions can be taken. He also claimed, Tripura is bound to purchase power from other states due to high loads.
"Do not use power more than the permitted load that you took when taking connection", added Nath.
Netizens have slammed Ratan Lal Nath saying the Minister creates problems and causes harassment to public under any department where he is appointed.
Also netizens raised question, when OTPC, Monarchak like power plants are in Tripura and state is exporting power to Bangladesh, Nepal, why would Tripura purchase from other states ?
