AGARTALA, June 9 (TIWN): Chief Minister Manik Saha on Friday launched New Education Policy-2020 in Tripura amid some scattered protests staged in the state by few organizations. Talking to media at Town Hall, CM Manik Saha said, “It was a time when Nalanda like Institutions drew students from other zones to study in India but now Indian students are going abroad for studies. I believe, this National Education Policy 2020 which is a vision of Prime Minister Modi to unify the education and uplift the Education system of India will strengthen Indian Education system”. However, scattered protests were staged in parts of Tripura against this new Education Policy’s implementation in Tripura.
“Tripura is now an Education hub. It has so many universities too. Now, it’s time to improve the quality at their best. Earlier it was regional Education system but now it will synchronize the entire Education system nationally and when Tripura students will go out for studies outside the state, they will not suffer. Now, Indian students go abroad for studies, tomorrow students from other countries will study in India”, CM added.
“Keeping the Indian culture ahead, this Policy will also build the moral character of the students. Also it will open chances for students to switch their streams from the existing system. Any new system has some obstacles and we are trying our level best to overcome the challenges”, said CM.
