AGARTALA, May 14 (TIWN): Tripura Congress President Birjit Sinha on Saturday after Congress’s massive victory in Karnataka said that this victory has given courage to politically victimized Congress workers in Tripura and Congress will now be capable to stand on its own feet. Birjit Sinha said, “The voters of South India have replied to BJP and its negative politics. It is proven that South Indian people do not like hate politics. I believe that in the upcoming polls in various states, BJP will be defeated and Karnataka poll result will bring a major impact on the other polls. There are 5 states which are poll bound and nation will see BJP’s downfall”.
Karnataka Poll result has washed out BJP from the entire South Tripura which may cause a big impact on the upcoming polls in India.
In Tripura also, opposition parties were quick to react to the defeat of BJP. Whereas Congress called it a defeat of BJP’s Divisive Politics, opposition CPI-M has said Modi magic did not work in Karnataka amid much efforts of BJP to win.
After the Karnataka Poll result was declared, Tripura CPI-M State Secretary Jitendra Chowdhury congratulated Congress in Karnataka and mentioned, in Tripura also BJP was defeated but due to Vote-Divisions, the state could not get rid of BJP amid BJP’s significant drop of vote sharing.
Reacting to BJP’s defeat in Karnataka, Tripura CM Manik Saha said, 'Democracy exists and it's proven with Karnataka Poll. Without Democracy, how could Congress win the Poll?’
Congress has celebrated in Agartala state headquarter by burning fire crackers after the party gained a massive victory in Karnataka.
