AGARTALA, May 8 (TIWN): Without prior permission of the forest department and leaving the officials in deep sleep, 15-20 feet tall trees were cut down in broad daylight today by locals Prahlad Mukhopadhyay and his son Rahul Mukhopadhyay along the roadside near Agartala Public School in Baldkhal area of Chandrapur.
The students, teachers and principals of Agartala Public School planted these saplings purchased from a nursery owned by the Forest Department about 7 to 8 years ago.
Local resident Prahlad Mukherjee and his son Rahul Mukherjee own a plot and in front of this land, tall trees are so many years old.
