17 Years Old minors attempted to be tied in Marriage : Complaint Lodged

PANISAGAR, May 6 (TIWN): A 17 years old boy and another minor girl are attempted to be tied in marriage in Damchara, Shandhibasa amid objection by some family members. Later a complaint was lodged at the SDM office.
The report came amid, CM Manik Saha recently expressed concerns over the rising child marriages in the society and over 40% child marriages in Tripura on record.
The complaint was lodged to SDM Subhash Acharjee by Hasina Begam against her own mother and stepfather for forcing her brother for marriage. Hasina’s husband also supported her and raised voice against child marriage in front of media. Also complaints were lodged in local police stations.
