AGARTALA, April 30 (TIWN): Tripura former Chief Minister, now Haryana Prabhari Biplab Deb who was removed from Chief Minister’s post on May 14, 2022 by BJP High Command has raised serious doubt over BJP’s selection of candidate for the Banamalipur constituency in 2023 Assembly Poll whether was correct decision or not. Replying to media question over Banamalipur defeat of BJP where BJP State President Rajib Bhattacharjee was the candidate, Biplab Deb said, “Everything can not be said. Whatever the decision of the Party, we have to accept. I was sent to Rajya Sabha and it had to be accepted”.
“In 2018, I was President and I was given that seat. This time, he (Rajib Bhattacharjee) is the President and he was given the seat. However, how the voters of Banamalipur have taken the matter, it’s only known to the voters……but we accept the mandate of the people. The common people are the ultimate power in democracy. We will work to restore the faith of people”, said Biplab Deb.
BJP has yet to officially announce the reason behind Biplab Deb’s sacking, although various media reports stated that due to corruption and moral degradation and law and order issues, Deb was sacked from the post of CM.
