AGARTALA, April 30 (TIWN): After arrest in Extortion Racket, BJP sacks Nitish Debnath (Suman) from South Dist Yuva Morcha President Post. New President Bipul Bhowmik was appointed in that post. The step was taken after BJP South District Yuba Morcha President Nitish Debnath was arrested on Friday over extortion allegations against him. However, soon after Nitish Debnath was arrested, he complained chest pains. As a result, he was taken to the District hospital and then from there referred to GB hospital. According to report, police were ready to produce Nitish Debnath before Court but it could not be done due to his health issues. Another prime accused named Subhrajit Patari is absconding.
Both are allegedly involved in extortions for many years but due to political muscles, police failed to take any appropriate action.
The issue developed after a contractor Gautam Chowdhury lodged an FIR against both and also the issue was referred to CM Manik Saha who directed police to take action.
CM Manik Saha has taken special task-force project to end crimes, human right violations in state in attempt to recover Tripura from political terror that was created under former BJP CM Biplab Deb.
