AGARTALA, April 12 (TIWN): In a rare scenario, a family was seen in protest against the continuous attacks on them in East Chanmari area. The family members said that they are facing attacks since the election result declaration because they belong to a CPI-M supporting family. Yesterday night, their shops were vandalized by miscreants.
A family member said, “Our family members are CPI-M supporters. We are facing nonstop attacks by the goons since 2nd March. I am a terminated 10323 teacher and due to financial condition I had to stop my wife’s treatment. Anyhow, I am surviving on little earning from auto, but that was also vandalized by the goons. We are insecure, can’t stay in homes. A Madhyamik candidate of our family had to shift herself due to attacks. It’s better to die than living like this. We request the Chief Minister to ensure our safety. We may belong to opposition parties but never had committed any wrongdoing”.
