AGARTALA, April 7 (TIWN): Miscreants poisoned in Ratan Sarkar’s pond in the darkness of night which caused many fishes deaths. The incident occurred 30 Kath area under South Madhupur.

The owner of the pond, Ratan Sarkar blamed Congress party workers without naming anyone behind the act. He said that before the election Congress party workers had given him various inducements to join the Congress party but he did not agree, and centering this probably Congress activists may pour poison in his pond. He suffered a loss of about one and a half to two lakh rupees.

On hearing the news, the staff of the Fishery Department rushed to the spot along with members and Pradhan of the area.

The owner of the pond said that he would file a case at the Madhupur police station and demanded that the real culprits be punished.
