70% Drivers do not wear Seat Belts in Tripura : Rs. 500 fine imposition begins by Traffic Police Dept to curb accidental deaths

AGARTALA, April 7 (TIWN): Traffic police department has started imposing Rs. 500 fines on drivers who are not wearing seat belts. In a survey, it was found that over 70 to 80 percent drivers do not wear seat belts. Today in Agartala, traffic police started the drive to curb this traffic law violation. Rs. 500 fines were collected from violators for not wearing seat belts. Traffic Dept official said this move will help to prevent accidental deaths as Tripura is a critical state regarding the number of accidents daily happening on highways.
