AGARTALA, March 5 (TIWN): Once again, complaints raised against hospital services in Tripura after a 7 month’s old baby died in IGM hospital on Wednesday and the family of the deceased child alleged that he was not attended by any Doctor in the IGM hospital. Reportedly, resident of South Nalchar Prasanta Das admitted his child first to Hapania hospital and on next Friday, Doctor had given the next appointment for the baby. But the fever was not decreasing led the family to take their baby to Melaghar hospital today.
The baby was put on oxygen and referred to IGM hospital in Agartala from Melaghar hospital. Doctors of IGM hospital declared the baby as dead and gave no treatment, but the family members alleged that after Doctor declared it dead, he had urinated.
“How can a dead baby urinate ?”, asked his mother while screaming in tears before media. She added, “Please give justice to my son……….”
However, Doctors asked for post mortem, though the family did not allow to do so.
Here it can be mentioned that long fever, respiratory problems in babies are spread across the nation, especially in West Bengal causing massive numbers of deaths of children but Tripura Govt has not taken the issue yet seriously and least bothered to find out whether any adenovirus and similar virus’s pandemic that can be existing in the state or not.
