AGARTALA, March 3 (TIWN): A three-and-a-half-year-old boy named Joy Debnath drowned in a pond in the evening while visiting his grandfather's house in Lankamura area on Sunday.

The grandfather of the dead child said that his daughter came to his house with the three-and-a-half-year-old boy on Sunday morning. Since afternoon, the baby had gone missing. In the evening, the dead body of the son was found in the pond.

The child was rescued and immediately brought to the IGM hospital for treatment. The doctors on-duty declared Joy Debnath dead after a long examination.

Later his dead body was shifted to GB Hospital for postmortem.

On Monday, the dead body of Joy Debnath was handed over to the family after the post mortem.
