AGARTALA, March 3 (TIWN): Along with the whole nation, Mahavir Jayanti was observed in Tripura by Jains.

Reportedly, it is the 2622 year of Mahavir’s birthday.

At Agartala Town Hall, the program was held by Mahavir Religious Trust.

Mahaveer Janma Kalyanak, is one of the most important religious festivals for Jains. It celebrates the birth of Mahaveer, the twenty-fourth and last Tirthankara of present Avasarpi??. As per the Gregorian calendar, the holiday occurs either in March or April. It is also known as 'Veer Teras' highlighting the 13th 'Sud' day of the Chaitra month.
