AGARTALA, March 28 (TIWN): After morning pujo, in the evening also, heavy rushes of devotees were observed in Agartala Durga Bari during ‘Arati’. Thousands of devotees have been visiting the temple since morning. Across the state Basanti puja festival is going on with full enthusiasm. The four-day-long Basanti Puja which is held in Spring season is as same as Durga puja in Autumn, and infact it is said that Basanti Puja is the real Durga puja since ancient times though it has lost popularity and the main celebration was shifted to the Autumn season since Lord Rama had worshipped Durga Goddess before a battle during Autumn season. But once again gradually, Basanti puja is getting back to its previous glorifying status and the rising numbers of Basanti puja in various zones of the country including Tripura is an example.

Devotees rushed to Durga temples and pandals where the Basanti puja is observed. In Kali temples and various other temples, Basanti and Durga puja both are celebrated with full devotion. In Agartala Royal Durga Bari, massive crowd of devotees was observed on Basanti Puja Sapatami.

Goddess Durga symbolises women’s internal strength, win of Good over Evil. She is also the universal mother of the each living being on earth.
