BELONIA, March 27 (TIWN): The drug-peddler who was arrested yesterday in Belonia has managed to escape from the lockup. Questions are being raised over the security arrangements of the police after the arrested drug dealer escaped from police station lockup. The drug-peddling accused has been identified as Abhijit Das.

GRP arrested drug dealer Abhijit Das at Belonia Railway station yesterday evening.

Later, the GRP handed over Abhijit Das to Belonia police. But this morning, this drug dealer escaped from the lockup of the police station.

The police of Belonia police station has started search operation to arrest the escaped accused.

However, this is not the first time that an accused escaped from police’s clutches.
